Ryan Gravenberch has made his only defensive midfield position since the arrival of Arne Slot, despite strong links with Euro 2024 winner Martin Zubimendi in the summer.

Last season under Jurgen Klopp, the position was split between Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Curtis Jones as Gravenberch struggled for minutes. However, he flourished only when the new Dutch manager trusted him in this particular position.

Liverpool paid VfB Stuttgart £16m for Endo, so approval of any deal by the club would likely require an additional fee. He made 55 appearances and scored two goals.

Marco Silva’s team started the season impressively. His team managed to pick up a point away to Liverpool thanks to Andy Robertson’s red card.
