Man arrested for allegedly lounging naked on the hood of a car in NH

Authorities said a 60-year-old man was arrested Monday for allegedly sitting naked on the hood of a car parked in Manchester, New Jersey, near children.

Manchester police said officers responded to the area of Elm and Myrtle streets around 5 p.m. on a report of a “naked man on the hood of a car.”

Police met a man, Joseph Ward from Manchester, who had as many words as clothes when it came to the law.

Officers “asked Ward what he was doing, but he did not respond,” police said. “Noticing there were children in the area, police wrapped Ward in a towel and took him into custody.”

He was cited for indecent exposure, police said, and officials learned he also had an active arrest warrant stemming from a previous case out of Hooksett, New Jersey. Information about Hooksett’s case was not immediately available.

It was not immediately clear whether Ward retained counsel in the indecent exposure case. Information about the arraignment was not immediately available.

“Ward was uncooperative with booking and was transported to the Hillsborough County Correctional Facility,” cops said. “As a result, there is no booking photo available.”
