M25: Motorway reopens near Dartford Crossing following an accident

The M25 road was closed near Dartford Crossing on Wednesday due to a “serious” accident that lasted several hours.

Kent Police said they were called just after 14:30 GMT to a crash involving a motorcycle on a clockwise carriageway.

Due to the incident, both the clockwise and anti-clockwise carriageways were closed and the Air Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

According to Highways England South East, the clockwise carriage was the last to open at 20:00 GMT, with long delays persisting in both directions.
