A man and woman appear in court over a fatal attack in Knockanure

A man and a woman will appear in court this morning over a fatal attack in Knockanure.

Gerard Kennelly died in an attack earlier this year.

In the early hours of May 27, Gardaí were notified of a suspected assault in the village of Knockanure.

Gerard Kennelly, a father of one in his 30s, was found with fatal injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.

As part of the investigation, gardai arrested a 20-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man yesterday.

Both have already been charged and have a trial date earlier District Court in Listowel this morning.

A 35-year-old man has already been charged with manslaughter for the death of Gerard Kennelly.
