A woman has died from injuries suffered in a fire in Stoughton

State officials announced that a 90-year-old woman has died from serious injuries in a fire at her Stoughton home last week.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was rescued from her home at 59 Greenbrook Drive in Stoughton when the fire broke out on the afternoon of October 24. She was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where she died in a joint statement Tuesday, Stoughton Fire Chief Michael Carroll, Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara, State Fire Marshal Jon Davine and Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced.

“Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the woman’s family and loved ones,” said Carroll, the fire chief. “On behalf of the Stoughton Fire Department and the community, I want to offer them our sincerest condolences.”
