A car crashes into a restaurant in Ohio City

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Residents of Cleveland’s new high-rise apartment building Ohio city neighbors jumped out of bed early Thursday morning when a car hit the building and the alarm went off.

The accident occurred just after 3 a.m. at 2050 Gehring Avenue.

A double shooting was reported outside a local library

The car hit the Jaja Steakhouse located on the first floor.

“I heard the building shaking, I felt it,” said Lizzy Alley, who was woken up by the crash.

Authorities said the driver was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Police said speed appeared to be a factor in the cause of the crash.

A building inspector and the fire brigade were called to the scene.
