Benjamin Guiver convicted of ‘brutal and horrific’ sexual assault

In a statement read on her behalf, the victim stated that the attack had ruined her life because she thought she was taking her last breath.

“I am a shell,” we read.

“I’m constantly nervous and scared of my own shadow.”

The victim stated that the ongoing injuries were affecting her daily life as “it is difficult for her to look in the mirror due to her injuries.”

“I feel like I’m not myself anymore,” she added, saying that “simple tasks like folding sheets are a challenge” and that her partner now has to help her dress and do her hair.

She said she could no longer sleep in the same room where the assault occurred

“My entire life was ruined by one person in one night,” she added.

“I know what happened will haunt me for the rest of my life.”
