A 70-year-old driver was seriously injured after a pickup truck hit a Missouri highway sign

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KCTV) – A 70-year-old driver was seriously injured after his pickup truck left the highway and hit a sign east of Warrensburg in an overnight collision.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that just before 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, emergency services were called to the area of ​​Highways 50 and 13 east of Warrensburg for a report of a single-vehicle collision.

After first responders arrived on scene, they found Gordon J. Negus, 70, of Foristell, was traveling east on the highway in his 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle.

State troopers said the pickup truck ran off the left side of the road, where it struck a road sign before coming to rest. Negus, who was wearing a seat belt at the time, was taken away Western Missouri Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement officers noticed that the pickup truck had minor damage and was towed from the scene. No further information has been released.
