Jets Put DT Leki Fotu on IR, activate TE Kenny Yeboah

Allen Lazard has landed on injured reserveplaying with him for at least four games. He is joined in this respect by his defensive play Leki Fotuaccording to the band’s announcement.

Fotu started the season on IR and was only activated two weeks ago. That’s why the new agent has logged just 46 defensive snaps so far this season, and a second IR appearance will further disrupt his 2024 campaign. Fotu has been a member of Arizona’s D-line rotation for the past four years and was given the opportunity to do the same after arriving at the Jets.

The 26-year-old signed a one-year contract for $2.5 million and joined New York. This low-risk investment hasn’t gone according to plan so far, but once Fotu is healthy, he could be an effective counter to this run. Filling this role would be welcomed by the team and the player; The Jets have performed well in some defensive categories this season, but they only finish 17th overall. An effective display at the end of the campaign would also, of course, increase Fotu’s market value.

New York also activated a tight end Kenny Yeboah on Thursday from the reserve team. Like Fotu, he was listed as scheduled to return before the roster deadline, which allowed him to see the field at some point after Week 4. Yeboah had an open practice window last week, so it’s no surprise that he was activated in time for tonight’s game against the Texans. In the right move to activate special teams, tight end buddy Antoni Firkser was fired.

As expected, Riley Patterson he will actually be the first kicker who will have the first opportunity to take control for the wounded Greg Zuerlein. Added to the training squad (with Spencer Shrader) yesterday Patterson will not be promoted to Thursday’s game; rather, he was signed to the active roster. Given Zuerlein’s struggles this season, Patterson certainly has a chance to extend his opportunity with the Jets even if the veteran stays healthy.

Offensive lineman Alec Lindstrom – who has been regularly in and out of the Jets lineup in recent days – has also been reassigned from the taxi squad to the active roster. The 26-year-old has not played in the NFL in the regular season yet, but he will play again as a backup tackle for today’s game.
