Sensex, Nifty crash today: IndusInd Bank, NTPC, Adani Ports, Shriram Finance among top losers

Today’s market crash: The Indian stock market crashed on Friday, extending losses for a sixth straight session. Sensex fell 663 points to 79,399 and Nifty lost 260 points to 24,139 in morning trade. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 19 were trading lower. The top gainers were ITC, Sun Pharma, HCL Tech, Asian Paints, Nestle India and HUL, which rose to 4% today.

As many as 101 stocks hit their 52-week highs today and 202 stocks hit their 52-week lows today. Market breadth was negative as of the 3,857 shares traded, 606 were in the green and 3,146 were in the red. About 105 shares remained unchanged.

While the BSE midcap index fell by 872.57 points, the BSE small cap index lost 1,343 points to 52,300 points.

The biggest decliner was the BSE durable goods index, which fell 2,300 points to 60,604, followed by the capital goods and auto indexes, which fell by 2,021 and 1,554 points, respectively.

All 19 BSE sectoral indices were trading lower.

IndusInd Bank

IndusInd Bank shares fell 19% to a new 52-week low of Rs 1,026.85 compared to its previous close of Rs 1,278.90. Around 15.06 lakh shares of the company changed hands, accounting for a turnover of Rs 163.52 crore on Sensex. The company’s stock was also the biggest loser on the Nifty, falling 20% ​​to Rs 1,026.30.

M&M

M&M shares fell 4.93% to Rs 2,688.70 from its previous close of Rs 2,828.05. About 0.72 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 19.70 crore. On Nifty, the stock fell 4.90% to Rs 2,687.95.

NTPC

NTPC shares fell 4% to Rs 396.15 from the previous close of Rs 411.75. Around 4.04 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 16.18 crore. On Nifty, NTPC shares fell 3.67% to Rs 396.8.

L&T

L&T shares fell 4% to Rs 3,315 from its previous close of Rs 3,443.10 on Sensex. About 1 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 33.57 crore.

Adani ports

Shares of Adani Ports fell 3% to Rs 1,310 on Sensex from its previous close of Rs 1,354.10. About 0.47 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 6.21 crore.

Shares of Adani Enterprises fell 4.17% to Rs 2,712.10 from its previous close of Rs 2,830.20 on Nifty. About 9.57 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 263.07 crore.

Shriram Finances

Shares of Shriram Finance fell 4.06% to Rs 3,113.30 from its previous close of Rs 3,245.10 on Nifty. Around 16.35 lakh shares of the company changed hands, resulting in a turnover of Rs 515.71 crore.
