Suspects involved in the Tepe Park murder will appear in court for the first time

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday night in a death 17-year-old Malachiasz Młodych on Thursday they appeared in court for the first time.

Authorities say 16-year-old Santana T. Cooper and 17-year-old Lakai Snaden have been arrested Thursday and booked into the Vanderburgh County Correctional Center.

Police say Malachy was with Cooper and Snaden earlier in the day at Eastland Mall.

They say surveillance footage from the mall shows two suspects wearing the same clothes they wore in surveillance footage near Tepe Park the night of the murder.

Officers say Cooper and Snaden can also be seen running from the area after the shooting.

Police say they want to thank the companies and individuals who provided information and videos in this case.

Cooper and Snaden are expected to be formally charged next Wednesday.
