The film is an adaptation of the 1961 novel Desert Stake-Out and filming will begin in November.

Travis Mills is directing the project and also stars Thomas Jane, Myles Clohessy, Eli Brown and Eddie Spears.

The role marks Armie’s first acting job since he was identified as a suspect in a sexual assault case in 2021 and his name was cleared last May.

He later said he planned to begin the “long and difficult process of putting his life back together” and also thanked those who supported him through this ordeal.

In a statement on social media, he wrote: “I am very grateful to the District Attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and concluding that throughout this time I maintain that no crime occurred.

“I look forward to beginning the long and difficult process of putting my life back together now that my name has been cleared.”

The post was captioned on Instagram: “I would especially like to thank all the people who helped me get through this time. Further and higher.”

In a statement obtained by People, District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Tiffany Blacknell explained that the case was dropped “due to the complexity of the relationship and the inability to prove consensual sexual intercourse involving force, we are unable to prove this case.” beyond any doubt.”

She added: “Sexual assault cases are often difficult to prove, which is why we assign our most experienced prosecutors to review them. In this case, these prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review but determined that there was insufficient evidence at this time to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime.

“As prosecutors, we have an ethical obligation to only charge cases that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. We know that it is difficult for women to report sexual violence.

“Even if we are unable to continue prosecution, our victim services representatives will be available to those seeking our victim support services.”
