Police identify suspect in Brookfield shooting | News, sports, work

BROOKFIELD — Police have identified a suspect “armed and dangerous” A shooting that occurred Wednesday morning on Wahabe Court in Masury, according to the Brookfield Police Department.

According to a Thursday news release from the department, Eastern District Court in Trumbull County issued an arrest warrant for Joshua L. Bryant, 29, for felonious assault.

Police responded to the scene around 11:25 a.m. after an officer responded to an unrelated call at 8100 Addison Road and reported hearing shots fired.

The victim, a 33-year-old Pennsylvania man, told police he went to the 845 Wahabe courthouse to discuss dog custody with a resident he knew. Upon arrival, he stated that the resident fired five shots at his vehicle, hitting it each time, but leaving it unharmed, the release states. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

In connection with the attack, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, who had already been convicted of possessing a weapon, we read in the release.

The Brookfield Police Department, assisted by the Sharon Police Department, asks anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to call 330-448-6960 during business hours or the Trumbull County Dispatch Center after business hours at 330-675-2730.
