Marietta City School teacher faces unspecified charges | News, sports, work

Charges were brought against a Marietta City Schools teacher.

“We are aware of allegations involving one of our employees and we take the situation very seriously,” he added. Marietta City School interim superintendent Alison Woods said in a Thursday afternoon Facebook post.

Woods said in the post that the district refrained from making a public statement when the allegations were made out of respect for and in consultation with law enforcement’s investigative process.

“Despite this, as soon as we learned about the allegations, we took quick action – the teacher was sent home, advised not to have contact with students and staff, and banned from being on school property,” he added. the statement said.

Woods said in the post that ensuring the safety and care of students in the district’s schools is her top priority.

“We are fully cooperating with local law enforcement and will continue to do so,” he added. – she said in the post.

Requests for comment on the situation and information about the allegations made by Christian Hudspeth, Marietta City Schools communications coordinator, Marietta Police Chief Katherine Warden, Marietta Police Capt. Ryan Huffman and Marietta Police Capt. Aaron Nedeff were not returned by press time press.

Woods responded to requests for comment, stating that the district had no further comment at this time.
