Youngsville man charged with stealing  | News, sports, work

YOUNGSVILLE – A Youngsville man received little more than charges after allegedly trying to break into two homes on Oct. 17.

Donald K. Messenheimer, 65, of Youngsville was charged Tuesday with burglary – overnight stay, failure to attend, Class 1 felony, trespassing – burglary of a structure, Class 2 felony, theft by unlawful taking, movable property, two counts of criminal mischief – criminal damage to property and two counts of loitering and prowling at night. All five lesser charges are Class 3 misdemeanors. Bail was set at $50,000 unsecured.

According to police records, Messenheimer took only one $20 bill.

Youngsville police say Messenheimer tried to break into a home on East Main Street between 3 and 4 a.m. Oct. 17, but all he did was rip the doorbell camera off the front wall of the residence and break the doorknob off the screen door. Total damage was $300.

“The recording shows a man holding a towel in front of part of his body and covering his face from the camera,” he added. affidavit of probable cause.

Messenheimer then allegedly moved next door and forced his way into a second home on East Main Street, taking $20 that he allegedly found in the living room.

“Thanks to interrogations of residents of nearby houses and the help of victims, Donald Messenheimer was identified as a suspect” – – the statement states.

When questioned by Youngsville police officers, Messenheimer allegedly admitted to damaging the doorbell camera, breaking into a neighboring home and stealing money.

This was the second burglary on Main Street in Youngsville in three days. Arrest warrants have been issued for two Jamestown residents accused of stealing an electric bicycle from a Youngsville garage on October 20. Aaron Nazario, 39, and Sarah E. Lundsten, 42, were charged Friday in connection with an Oct. 20 burglary in Youngsville.

Nazario is charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and trespassing – trespassing, all felony charges, as well as theft by unlawful taking, loitering and prowling at night – both misdemeanor charges. Lundsten is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, a felony, and loitering and prowling at night, a misdemeanor.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in Warren County Court by the Youngsville Police Department, Nazario allegedly stole an e-bike from a Youngsville garage worth $1,200. The affidavit shows the garage was left open overnight.
