Even before the sun rose, people arrived from near and far. Some braved the cold and the long walk to get the best spot.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Before sunrise, people arrived from near and far. Some braved the cold and the long walk to get the best spot.

“I slept for three hours. I left Cloudcroft, New Mexico at 2:30 and am here.

Former President Donald Trump landed at the Albuquerque International Sunport five days before Election Day and spent three hours in New Mexico. Once on the ground, Trump spent most of his time making a final address to voters in New Mexico.

“We can win New Mexico. We can win New Mexico,” Trump said.

It was clear that the former president knows what issues are most important to New Mexico voters.

“You have one of the worst border problems of any state in America, and only I know how to solve it,” Trump said.

According to his speech, the plan includes the largest deportation program in American history and much tougher penalties for migrants accused of serious crimes.

“I am here calling for the death penalty for any migrant who kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer,” Trump said.

The former president told New Mexicans he also has a plan for inflation.

“On Day One, I will sign an executive order directing every federal agency to immediately remove any burdensome regulations that increase the cost of goods,” Trump said.

He suggested that New Mexico’s oil and gas industry also has a role to play.

“We need to reduce these costs. And I’m going to knock them down, you know, I’m going to knock them down. We’re gonna drill, baby, drill. We’re gonna drill, baby, drill. “Reduce your energy,” Trump said.

Trump cited the lucrative oil and gas industry as a reason not to vote for his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It will destroy over 90,000 oil and gas jobs in New Mexico. They will put your state on the line and your state will go back to the poverty level,” Trump said.

Despite criticizing Harris for talking about him during campaign rallies, the former president actually spent a lot of time talking about her.

“Everything Kamala says is a lie. Kamala Harris is a person with a low IQ,” Trump said.

Trump wasn’t afraid to reveal why he stopped in New Mexico just five days before the election.

“We are especially excited to support record numbers of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Right here in New Mexico, if we get a record share of the Latino American vote, we will win,” Trump said.

The former president spoke for about 90 minutes. You can watch his entire speech Here.
