EFCC arrests Bobrisky again at Lagos airport

EFCC arrests Bobrisky again at Lagos airport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arrested controversial social media personality and cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The arrest came just days after Bobrisky was released on bail by the Nigerian police.

The dramatic arrest took place on Thursday evening as Bobrisky was about to board a plane to London.

Eyewitnesses reported that Nigerian authorities stopped the plane just before takeoff and escorted the celebrity in front of other passengers.

A distraught Bobrisky wrote on Instagram soon after the incident: “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. “I’m seriously injured.”

Last week, he was detained by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border while he was allegedly trying to flee the country.

An investigation was launched into the cross-dresser case after an audio recording emerged in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed he was allowed to serve his six-month sentence outside Kirikiri Prison due to “influential connections”.
