HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 44-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash in Haiku on Halloween morning, Maui police said.

The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on West Kuiaha Road.

The initial investigation revealed that a Kia Sorento was traveling southbound when it left the roadway, struck a fence and overturned.

Police said Good Samaritans rescued two people from the vehicle – a 44-year-old woman who was the driver and a 2-year-old girl.
