Homicide detectives say staff found a woman’s body in a room at a luxury wellness resort

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (Gray News) – Police say a 33-year-old woman was found dead Monday in the guest room of an upscale New York wellness resort.

Suffolk County Police Department identified the victim as Sabina Rosas from Brooklyn.

Homicide detectives say Rosas was found murdered at Shou Suga Ban’s home on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

According to Suffolk County Police, investigators determined that Rosas was a “victim of violence” after a facility employee found her body in a guest room.

Authorities identified the suspect in Rosas’ murder as 56-year-old Thomas Gannon. The police announced this on Wednesday Gannon was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his home in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement officials did not initially disclose the connection between Gannon and Rosas, but friends told WCBS he was obsessed with her as an artist.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Rosas to determine the exact cause of death.
