One person died in a hit-and-run on Friday

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – The Florida Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a crash in Bradenton this morning.

Investigators received the first report of the crash just before 3 a.m. Friday. It happened near where 44th meets US-301.

The man was walking in the lane when a sedan hit him. The identities of the driver and pedestrian are unknown at this time.

After the first collision, the driver, probably a white Nissan sedan, drove away, leaving the body.

The second accident occurred immediately afterwards. An SUV and a motorcycle collided with the body of a pedestrian.

However, these cars remained at the scene until the rescue services arrived.

As investigators search the area, southbound lanes of 301 are closed in the area. Anyone with information about the first car should contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
