Hawks vs Kings: Spread and Score Predictions

Hawks vs Kings: Spread and Score Predictions

The Atlanta Hawks return to State Farm Arena tonight and will also face one of the better teams in the NBA.

Bogdan Bogdanovic (right hamstring tendinopathy), Kobe Bufkin (right shoulder subluxation), Dyson Daniels (right hip flexor strain), De’Andre Hunter (right knee injury treatment, Vit Krejci (right adductor strain), Cody Zeller (not on the team) ) Everyone won’t be on the Hawks field tonight. That’s two starters for the Hawks and they lose four of their top five players in the game. This is a difficult moment for the Hawks and it will be difficult for them to get a chance to play this game.

In the last game against the Wizards, Hawk’s offense was okay (not great), but the defense was terrible. The problem for the Hawks is that when they face the Kings tonight, they will be facing a much better team. Another thing I pay attention to is the second half. If the game is decided in the first half, will the Hawks find a way to finish? The fourth quarter has been terrible for the Hawks in their last three games, and some of that, especially on Wednesday night, may have been due to undermanning and late-game fervor.

Heading into tonight’s game, the Hawks rank 7th in the NBA in PPG, 13th in FG%, 19th in 3PA, 21st in 3P%, 2nd in FTA, 20th in rebounds, and 21st in turnovers . For Glass cleaningAtlanta ranks 13th in points per 100 possessions, 14th in effective field goal percentage, 22nd in turnover percentage, 14th in offensive rebounding percentage and 1st in free throw rate.

Atlanta ranks 28th in PPG allowed, 18th in field goal percentage allowed, 30th in 3PA allowed, and 30th in 3P%. According to Cleaning the Glass, the Hawks rank 25th in points per 100 possessions and 25th in effective field goal percentage.

Sacramento has one of the more consistent profiles in the NBA. They rank 9th in the NBA in PPG, 3rd in field goal percentage, 20th in three-point percentage, 20th in three-point percentage, 16th in free throw percentage, 30th in rebounding and 8 .in terms of losses. On a cleaning-the-glass basis, the Kings rank 6th in points per 100 possessions, 6th in effective field goal percentage, 6th in turnover percentage, 27th in offensive rebounding percentage and 9th in free throw rate .

The Kings have been a much better team defensively over the past few seasons, holding their last two opponents to under 100 points. Sacramento ranks 10th in PPG allowed, 13th in field goal percentage allowed, 17th in three-point shooting percentage allowed and 8th in Fina three-point shooting percentage allowed. On a cleaning-the-glass basis, Sacramento ranks 9th in points allowed per 100 possessions and 12th in effective field goal percentage.

Predicting the end result

The Hawks are simply short of guys right now. There is a chance that Young and Johnson will have big games tonight and lead the Hawks to victory, but that’s hard to imagine right now given this team’s lack of personnel. The Kings are healthy and have the better lineup in this game, which will be evident later in the game.

Final score: Kings 127, Hawks 118
