Young bandit (real name: Jeffrey Williams) was involved in the longest-running trial in Georgia. Initially, prosecutors insisted that the rapper receive 45 years in prison, of which 25 years behind bars and the remaining 20 years suspended. However, after a successful plea deal, Young Thug will be released from prison on October 31, 2024. More information about his plea agreement, sentence, probation and case can be found below.

Why was the young bandit arrested?

Young Thug was arrested along with multiple gang-related charges Gunna and over 20 other people associated with the YSL label in a 56-person indictment. After being booked into Fulton County, Young Thug was later placed behind bars at the Cobb County Jail in Georgia.

Following a search of his home, Young Thug was also charged with multiple additional crimes related to possession of illegal substances and firearms. Since his arrest, he has been denied release from prison several times.

When was the young bandit locked up?

The rapper was sent to prison after his arrest in May 2022. His trial officially began in November 2023. After a short break, the trial resumed in January 2024.

In October 2024, Young Thug entered into a plea agreement to be released from prison.

Has the young bandit been released?

Young Thug will be released from prison now that he has pleaded guilty to one gang-related charge, three drug-related charges and two weapons charges, and has entered a no-contest plea agreement on separate gang-related charges and a racketeering conspiracy charge. He also agreed to avoid the Atlanta metro area for the first 10 years of his probation period, except for special occasions or urgent matters such as weddings, funerals and/or family emergencies.

Additionally, Young Thug agreed to avoid making music with gang-related lyrics.
