On Friday evening, suspected militants shot and injured two foreign laborers working on the Jal Jeevan project in the Mazhama area of Budgam district in central Kashmir.

The workers were working at the Mazhama cemetery near the banks of the Nallah Sukhnag when they were attacked. One of the workers was wounded in the arm and the other in the leg. Both are stable and out of danger.

According to reports, two of the migrant workers – Sufiyan and Usman – were from Uttar Pradesh.

Both injured workers were initially treated at SDH Magam and were later referred to SKIMS Bemina for further care.

This attack is the third serious incident in recent weeks.

On October 23, a local doctor and six workers were killed in a targeted attack in Gagangeer, Ganderbal. This was followed by an attack in the Gulmarg area of Baramulla, where two army porters and three soldiers were killed.
