An FBI spokesman did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, but WBTW, WPDE AND “News of the Sun”. all reported that agents were seen outside John-Paul Miller’s home in Horry County, South Carolina

Both WPDE and WBTW reported that an FBI spokesman said the agency was conducting “court-authorized law enforcement activities” at home.

Miller’s attorney, Russell Long, confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE that the FBI searched the home.

“As expected, they executed a search warrant at his home this morning,” Long said. “Nothing new really. Let’s hope this is over.”

Mica Miller, 30, was found dead at a state park in Robeson County, North Carolina, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to local authorities.

Mica and John-Paul, pastor of Solid Rock on Market Common in Myrtle Beach, were separated at the time of her death. Just over a week before her death, Mica filed for separate support and alimony against John-Paul, which amounts to a legal separation, the Horry County court clerk told PEOPLE.

Mika’s relatives speculated about it foul play could have occurred involved in her death, but local authorities vehemently deny this, saying the evidence of suicide is “clear and convincing.”

The search of John-Paul’s Horry County home comes months after the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office told PEOPLE in May that the F.B.I. “parallel investigation” it had nothing to do with Mika’s death.

“There is no evidence linking him to her death,” Damien McLean of the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office told PEOPLE in May. “(The FBI) ​​is investigating regardless of her death. Her death was ruled (a) suicide.”

The FBI did not say what the nature of the investigation was.
