A teacher at Marietta City School faces charges

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – A Marietta City Schools employee is facing charges.

According to a Facebook post by the interim superintendent, the school refrained from making a public statement when making the allegations out of respect for the law enforcement investigation.

The nature of the allegations has not been disclosed yet.

The Marietta city law director’s office told WTAP it had no information about the incident.

WTAP contacted Marietta police but has not received a response.

Woods sent an email in which he addressed the Facebook post.

Woods also stated in her email: “We are continuing the legal process with law enforcement and the district’s legal counsel. We have no further comment on this situation at this time.”
