The Art of a St. Student Mike’s film about life with a disability will premiere

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Sadie Chamberlain has a vivid imagination and a way with words.

The final year student at Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, is studying a double major in theater and psychology. Chamberlain grew up in Vermont and has been acting since the age of five. The 22-year-old from Burke appeared in 24 performances. For her senior capstone project, Chamberlain wrote a fantastic play about her life with a disability.

Chamberlain suffers from cerebral palsy and Taste of freedom, she sings, dances and performs as the Virgin, one of the four characters inhabiting the Celtic landscape.

Eva Sollberger from Seven Days stopped by on campus to watch a rehearsal of the play.

“A Taste of Freedom” will be shown from November 6 to 9 at the McCarthy Arts Center Theater in St. Mike’s, and admission is free.
