Who was Mica Miller?

According to multiple reports, Mica was a 30-year-old resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Before her death, she was an active member of Solid Rock Church along with JP, whom she married in 2018. However, Mica reportedly told police in January 2023 that they were separated. CBS Austin. Mica officially filed for divorce from JP in October 2023, and their divorce case was pending at the time of her death.

According to numerous reports, Mica was involuntarily hospitalized for 48 hours in a hospital three months before her death, on February 8, 2024. On February 21, 2024, she told police that she believed JP “fraudulently initiated her ‘involuntary’ hospitalization and stole her car while she was undergoing treatment.” ABC 13 News reported. She allegedly told the officer that she had known her husband since she was 10 and that he “raised” her while she worked for him at church until they married.

When police contacted JP to respond to the claims, he alleged that Mica had been suffering from “episodes” and was spending large sums of money when she stopped taking her prescription, so he had to take her wallet. No charges were filed.

Additionally, in March 2024, Mica told police she was “scared for her life” after finding a GPS tracking device in her car and a razor blade on her tire.

What happened to Mica Miller?

According to multiple reports, on April 27, 2024, Mica was seen on a Ring camera leaving her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at 11:38 a.m. EST. She then went to Dick’s Pawn Shop, where she purchased a gun, surveillance footage shows. Mica called 911 at 2:54 p.m. and asked the dispatcher if he had located her location. She told the dispatcher, “I’m about to kill myself and I just want my family to know where to find me.”

After Mica hung up the phone, the dispatcher was unable to find her location and contacted local authorities, who found Mica’s black Honda Accord at Lumber River State Park in Orrum, North Carolina. Investigators found a Sig Sauer gun case in the passenger seat of the vehicle, as well as a box of ammunition in the center console.

Mika’s body was found in the water, and it was later determined that she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Mika Miller’s family says she was “hopeful” about her future

In a statement shared by Protest in May, Mika’s sister, Sierra Francisshe claimed that Mica felt “hopeful” after her divorce from JP and planned to move to Kenya to pursue missionary work. Sierra also claimed that Mica told family members, “If I end up with a bullet in my head, it’s not because of me, it was JP.”

Her family also alleged that Mica kept a diary which suggested she was the victim of brutal coercive control. JP denied these claims and handed over KFDM in July 2024 that her family would “do anything for money.” A month later, he reached an agreement with her family regarding Mika’s estate.

In a May press release, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office debunked conspiracy theories surrounding Mika’s death and a potential crime.

“This incident has generated significant attention throughout the Carolinas and beyond. I would like to assure everyone that our Crime Scene Investigation Team and Crime Scene Investigation Team conducted a very methodical investigation.” Sheriff Burnis Wilkins he said. “Unfortunately, rumors and conspiracy theories spread quickly and speculations were made. JP Miller’s home was searched in November 2024

JP attorney Russell Long confirmed on November 1, 2024, that the FBI conducted a search of the pastor’s home on Coldwater Circle in Myrtle Beach. However, when asked what they were looking for, Long replied that they were “fishing.”

“No affidavit was attached to the search warrant; Therefore, I have no idea what it involves,” added the representative, para Post and Courier.

In his eulogy for Mika on May 5, 2024, JP said he visited his estranged wife’s body in the mortuary four times. “It didn’t occur to me every time. I even tried to bring her back from the dead once this week. … Everyone knew how beautiful she was on the outside. But only, I guess, the spouse knows how beautiful that person was on the inside.”
