“We need to change if India wants to reach the WTC final” – Mohammad Kaif sharply criticizes Virat Kohli after suicide attempt

“We need to change if India wants to reach the WTC final” – Mohammad Kaif sharply criticizes Virat Kohli after suicide attempt

Virat Kohli tried to score a quick single but an error in judgment cost him a wicket on the first day of the final Test between India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, November 1. As a result, the miserable run continued for a talismanic cake in the longest format of the game.

After playing a full toss through mid-wicket to keep the boundary off the wicket, Kohli tried to swing the shot by pushing the next delivery in front of mid-wicket and took off to hit a quick single. Matt Henry quickly got the ball and knocked down the stumps with a perfect throw. Even Kohli’s desperate dive couldn’t save him as he was caught just short of his crease.

The former India captain was out on four off six balls and India lost their fourth wicket for 84 runs. Mohammad Kaif did not like this suicidal dismissal. The former Indian cricketer also pointed out that Kohli was sent off after bowling a full over in the last Test.

“Virat Kohli has been bowled in this series and now this error in judgment needs to end. This has to change if India has to reach the WTC finals,” Kaif wrote on his official “X” (earlier on Twitter) ) I will sort it out on Friday.

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant score half-centuries on day two

India needed a steady partnership of young guns Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant on day two and they delivered the same with an excellent display of counter-attacking cricket in the first session. The former scored a half-century off 66 balls after Mark Chapman dropped him on 45.

Meanwhile, Pant was the more explosive batsman in the team as he conceded a half-century off just 36 balls. The fifth-wicket partnership is approaching triple figures and given the commendable depth in the Indian batting order, the hosts should be confident of gaining a significant advantage in the first innings.
