A driver will be charged with driving under the influence after crashing into a police car parked on I-5 in Portland

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A Portland police officer is recovering from minor injuries after his car was hit by a drunk driver on Interstate 5 on Wednesday, according to police.

Just before 8:30 p.m., two officers responded to a rollover crash on I-5 at Southwest Multnomah Boulevard.

While the crash was being investigated, two police cars were parked on the side of the road.

One of the two officers who responded to the scene was sitting in his car when another driver struck the driver’s side of that police car.

This driver was quickly pulled over and was ultimately arrested for DUI, dangerous driving and other charges.

Police said an officer who was in the car was treated for back pain, but no one was seriously hurt.
