Lamar Jackson returns to practice; The Ravens defensive line is banged up

The Ravens defensive line remains questionable

The Ravens only have one defensive lineman, Nnamdi Madubuike, who is not on the injury report, but things improved noticeably on Friday.

Earlier this week, the Ravens placed Michael Pierce (calf) on injured reserve and Brent Urban (concussion) was ruled out due to missing practice all week.

Travis Jones (ankle) and Broderick Washington (knee) returned to training on Friday, but Jones’ performance remains questionable. Washington does not carry a nomination, which means he is expected to fit.

If the Ravens need additional help on the defensive line, they have several defensive linemen they could draft from the practice squad: offensive tackle Josh Tupou, defensive end Chris Wormley, undrafted rookie defensive end C.J. Ravenell and defensive end Adedayo Odeleye.

“We obviously have some guys who are crazy. We’ll see if they get to Sunday’s game,” defensive coordinator Zach Orr said Thursday.

“Obviously these guys are very important players for us, but I’m excited about the guys we have behind them – they’re doing well in training. Here in Baltimore, the interior D-Line is something we take seriously and we always have a contingency plan for it and I don’t think it’s really going to change the way we call (the game).”

The strength of the Broncos offense is its rushing game, which ranks 14th in the league with an average of 121.4 yards per game. Javonte Williams is their leading forward, and rookie point guard Box Nix can also make some plays with his legs.
