Durham: Police officer injured while chasing car of burglary suspect

Police said the vehicle did not have its headlights on and was driving at high speed on the wrong side of the road in some places.

“Tactical contact” involved hitting the vehicle to stop it.

The 21-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, failure to stop and having no insurance.

A 25-year-old passenger was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Both remain in police custody.

The police are still looking for two men who fled the scene.

Police did not provide further details about the officer’s injuries.
