Two people injured in shooting at Okeechobee park after argument escalates

Deputies said gunfire broke out after a heated argument in Okeechobee, leaving two people injured.

The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said it received a report of shots fired following a violent argument between two people.

According to officials, the shooting occurred in Douglas Brown Park near Northeast 13th Avenue.

OCSO said both people were transported to Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where they are currently in stable condition.

The report noted there was no ongoing threat and the shooting was an isolated incident.
