Police officers injured in bar brawl in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — Two Salt Lake City police officers were injured during an overnight brawl that involved up to 40 people late Friday night.

Officers originally responded to a report of a fight at Manny’s Again in the 1700 block of South Main Street just before midnight. When they arrived, they broke up the argument, but soon became involved in another fight, which began just minutes later.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, 30-40 people were involved in the second fight, which due to its size required the response of other officers throughout the city.

Officers used pepper spray to help subdue those involved in the fight, which ended with six participants being arrested on various charges, including consuming alcohol in a public place and disorderly conduct.

Two injured policemen were treated on site and hospitalization was not required.
