Roanoke police are looking for a shooting suspect

The Roanoke Police Department is searching for a suspect in a Northwest shooting.

On Friday around 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 3600 block of Ferncliff Avenue NW. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to a police press release. The injured man could not be identified.

According to the release, the investigation identified the suspect, 46-year-old Frederick Lynell Wiley of Roanoke. He is now wanted on suspicion of causing injury with intent.
