Orlando shooting victims: Here’s what we know about them

Here’s what we know about the victims.

Just before 10 a.m., Orlando police released preliminary information about the victims. Chief Eric Smith said they were all between the ages of 18 and 39.

  • Victim 1: A 25-year-old black man has died
  • Victim 2: A 19-year-old white man has died
  • Victim 3: 18-year-old white male, shot in the left leg
  • Victim 4: 39-year-old woman, shot in the left hand
  • Victim 5: 24-year-old Latina, shot in the left leg
  • Victim 6: 20-year-old black man, grazed by a bullet in the head
  • Victim 7: 26-year-old Latino, shot in the right foot
  • Victim 8: 19-year-old Latina, shot in the upper back, the bullet lodged in the cheek
  • Victim 9: 26-year-old Latina; he wasn’t shot, but was trampled as people ran
  • Victim 10: The woman was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police have not released the names of the two men killed or the names of the other people who were injured until their families have been notified.

Police Chief Smith estimated that between 50,000 and 100,000 people were downtown on Friday evening.

UCF confirmed that one of them students were killed during the shooting and the other was injured. The university did not identify the students.

The 17-year-old suspect He was jailed on charges of first-degree murder and six counts of attempted first-degree murder, police said.
