Delhi resident shot dead after minor argument, second firing in Shahdara in 3 days – Delhi News

A man was fatally shot in northeast Delhi’s Shahdara area on Saturday evening, the second such incident in the last three days. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Sufiyan, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Police discovered four empty cartridges and blood stains at the scene.

According to Sufiyan’s family, the dispute started over a hat worn by one of his friends, identified as Sanam, a few days earlier. According to reports, Sufiyan asked for the hat back, which led to an argument and a minor fight.

The family alleged that the dispute escalated, resulting in Sanam and his associates fatally attacking Sufiyan.

DCP Shahdara in Prashant Gautam confirmed that a distress call was received around 7.15 p.m. and reported shots fired in the area.

“Upon reaching the scene, the person who died was identified. His name was found to be Sufiyan, who drove an e-rickshaw and lived in the Sonia Gandhi Camp slum in Gandhi Nagar. the names of the two men who committed this incident. We have formed a police team and we will catch them soon. We found 4 empty cartridges at the scene,” he said.

In a separate incident on Thursday, a 40-year-old man and his teenage nephew were killed and a 10-year-old was injured in firing outside their home during Diwali celebrations.

Police investigations are ongoing and efforts are being made to arrest those suspected of involvement in Sufiyan’s murder.
