Vicksburg resident charged with domestic violence assault after stabbing incident, two people taken to hospital – The Vicksburg Post

Shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, Merit Health River Region reported a man to the emergency room with a stab wound to the upper body. Minutes later, Vicksburg Police officers were dispatched to the area of ​​the intersection of Churchill Dr. and Indiana Ave. to help a female victim of an assault lying in the street.

VPD said officers determined both individuals were involved in the same case, which is now considered a domestic violence incident.

The man, Daron Evans, 28, of Vicksburg, was arrested after leaving the emergency room and has been charged with domestic violence assault. He will be held without bond pending his initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court.

The patient was transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center at Jackson for treatment. Her condition is stable at the moment.
