DJ Lagway emerges from the locker room on crutches and a leg brace after suffering a hamstring injury

DJ Lagway was injured in the second quarter of Florida’s game against No. 2 Georgia, and he was forced to leave the field on a cart.

He returns to the field for the Gators, but is on crutches and wearing a leg brace after suffering a hamstring injury.

Florida coach Billy Napier called it a “significant” hamstring injury in a halftime interview with ABC’s Holly Rowe.

Lagway was the No. 2 quarterback in the 247Sports Composite rankings, trailed only by Julian Sayin. He split time with Graham Mertz early in the season, but Mertz was lost for the season in an overtime loss to Tennessee.

The Gators started the season very slowly at 1-2, but the team responded by winning 3 of their last 4 games. Looking at the schedule, the losses are Miami, Texas A&M and Tennessee. All three of these teams are currently ranked in the top 10, which shows that the Gators are playing really well and coach Billy Napier is under a lot of pressure.

After Lagway’s injury, the Gators went to Aidan Warner to play quarterback. Warner is a redshirt freshman who played in only 2 of 3 games on Saturday.
