One person died in a motorcycle accident

OPP are investigating Saturday’s single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Midland that resulted in the death of the lone motorcyclist.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. on William Street. Simcoe County paramedics and Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers responded to the scene.

Police say the 37-year-old motorcycle driver from Midland was evaluated at the scene and then taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

William Street was closed in the area of ​​Gloucester Street and Bayview Drive to allow debris to be removed from the scene. The OPP’s Traffic Technical Investigations Unit is investigating factors that may have caused the crash, including speed, helmet use and the driver’s condition.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with dashcam footage that may assist with the investigation.
