Alleged ‘R33P’ tagger arrested after 3 nights | News

A man accused of marking “R33P” at more than a dozen locations in Tumon was arrested on Halloween night.

Andrew Edward Gonzalez was charged with five misdemeanor graffiti charges after an IHOP employee identified him from surveillance footage.

According to a complaint filed by a judge in the case, security guards first noticed the graffiti on a stairwell in the Dusit Beach parking garage in Tumon.

The document shows that he was not there during the previous inspection, and after reviewing surveillance camera footage, they saw a man who wrote “R33P” on the wall, then got into the vehicle and drove away.

The next day, an “R33P” label appeared near the ABC store at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Tumon. After reviewing the footage, the man was seen walking away from the ABC store towards SandCastle. An employee at a nearby IHOP identified the man as Gonzalez.

On Halloween, a Guam Visitors Bureau employee called police to report graffiti – tag R33P – on multiple GTA utility boxes, bus stops and retaining walls throughout Tumon.

Police found Gonzalez at his workplace, and Gonzalez agreed to go to the police station for questioning.

The complaint said Gonzalez admitted to multiple incidents involving the graffiti and claimed the “R33P” tag was his. The complaint states he was arrested on October 31 at 4:40 p.m.
