Chandigarh: Murder convict stabbed to death in Khuda Jassu village

Preliminary investigations suggest that the motive for the attack could have been revenge as the victim was involved in a murder case in Nayagaon a few years ago.

Police have arrested three youths for the murder of a 25-year-old man convicted of murder near the village of Khuda Jassu on Friday evening.

The victim, Rishab, was a resident of Janata Colony in Nayagaon. According to the police, a recently released prisoner was attacked with knives and sharp instruments, which led to fatal injuries. (iStock)

The victim, Rishab, was a resident of Janata Colony in Nayagaon. According to the police, a recently released prisoner was attacked with knives and sharp instruments, which led to fatal injuries.

The accused have been identified as Anna from Jhampur, Punjab, 26; Pankaj from Sector 25, Chandigarh, 25; and Nakul of Sector 38 (West), Chandigarh, 20.

According to investigators, Rishab was passing by a wall near Khuda Jassu when the accused attacked him. Preliminary investigations suggest that the motive behind the attack may have been revenge as the victim was involved in a murder case in Nayagaon a few years ago. After his release from prison, his attackers may have targeted him in revenge for their friend’s murder.

After informing the police, they quickly reached the spot and took Rishab to GMSH, Sector 16. However, he was pronounced dead. The defendants were charged with murder and then arrested.
