Second gang member arrested after altercation that led to woman’s death: Grady Judd

According to the news agency, investigators arrested a second gang member hours after a violent argument that led to the shooting death of a woman. Polk County Sheriff’s office.

Joshua Clark, also known as “Chop,” is currently in custody, as is Jose Coronado, also known as “Tweety,” who was arrested earlier on Thursday.

During Thursday morning’s press conference, Sheriff Grady Judd said Clark and Jose Coronado, who are members of rival gangs, met early Thursday on Levins Road near Mulberry.

According to Judd, the men had an argument during which Coronado pulled a gun from his vehicle as Clark backed away. Coronado’s gun discharged, striking his 28-year-old girlfriend, Mary Dino, in the chest.

Coronado then fired shots at Clark, leading to the shooting, Judd said.

The sheriff said Coronado then drove Dino to Ryals Road, where he placed her on the tailgate of a truck and told those inside to take her to the hospital because he had a warrant and needed to leave. Dino later died.

According to Judd, investigators located the Coronado car about 20 miles away along U.S. 17 north of Fort Meade, where the pursuit began. Deputies performed a PIT maneuver and stopped Coronado.

PCSO says Clark hid for several hours before he was caught. No further details regarding his arrest were released.

Judd said both men are known methamphetamine dealers and belong to a so-called “drug colony.” Coronado had a warrant for failure to appear in a methamphetamine trafficking case Hillsborough County.

“I’m tired of hearing people say drugs are in small amounts and don’t cause violence,” Judd said.
