A woman from Rajasthan waited for a baby for 8 years, and 20 days after birth she drowned it in a tank of water.

Preliminary investigations show that a mentally distraught mother, overwhelmed by fears for her son’s future, allegedly took his life by drowning him on Tuesday evening

The mother allegedly drowned the 20-day-old baby in a water tank at their property in a village in Rajasthan. The woman was detained.

The baby was her first child and was born eight years after the couple got married. The family was devastated when they discovered the infant’s murder.

Additional Superintendent of Police Girdhari Lal Sharma stated that two days ago, the body of a 20-day-old baby was found in a water tank at their residence in Jeelo village of Neem Ka Thana under Dabla police station.

After receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. The family initially claimed that an unknown person had thrown the baby into the water tank. However, after talking to the family and thoroughly examining the scene, the police conducted a comprehensive investigation.

After collecting evidence, it was found that the child’s mother, Suman Saini alias Saroj Devi, was responsible for the baby’s death. Wanting to mislead her family, she repeatedly resorted to crying and pretending to faint. Because the facts clearly pointed to her guilt, the police arrested the mother on charges of murdering her son.

Preliminary investigations show that the accused mother, struggling with mental problems, took her son’s life. From the moment he was born, she was tormented by worries about his upbringing and future. Driven by this overwhelming dilemma, she allegedly threw her innocent son into a water tank on Tuesday night, leading to his tragic death. However, the police are urgently investigating all other aspects of this case.

The child’s aunt told the police that everyone went to bed after dinner on Tuesday. The mother, sister-in-law and two children were in the house, and the baby slept next to the grandmother. However, after midnight, the baby disappeared from the bed and the family started looking for him. They eventually noticed that the lid of the water tank outside their home was open. When they looked inside, it turned out that the child was swimming.

The child’s father, Krishna Kumar, works in the fire brigade in Ratangarh, Rajasthan. He said the deceased was their first child, who was born after eight years of consulting several doctors and offering prayers in numerous temples.
