Fourth grade students compete in a poster competition about fire safety

PARIS, Texas (KXII) – On Wednesday, October 30, the Paris Fire Department presented trophies to 24 fourth-grade students from eight Lamar County schools who participated in the annual fire safety poster contest.

Every year in October, the month of fire safety, prizes are awarded to the 3 best posters in each school and judged by the Paris Fire Brigade.

Each poster is judged for originality, clarity, neatness and content.

The poster created by Blossom Elementary student Lincoln Oats received the most votes and was the winner. His poster included drawings, included items such as an actual smoke detector, and quick reminders such as “Stop, Drop and Roll” and “Plan an Escape Route.”
