“I have one vote” and “I will use it to move forward”

Harrison Ford endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris just days before the 2024 election.

Ford appeared in a series of videos in partnership with the Harris-Walz campaign, released Saturday, saying: one video“When dozens of former members of the Trump administration sound the alarm and say, ‘For God’s sake, don’t do this again,’ you have to be careful. They tell us something important. These are not gentle people. These are governors, generals, opposing the leaders of the party they have defended all their lives. For many of them, it will be the first time they vote for a person who does not have the letter “R” next to their name. Because they know it really matters.

Ford continued: “The truth is Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her on policies or ideas, and then, as we have done for centuries, we will debate them. We will work on them together and move forward. The other demands unquestioning loyalty and claims revenge. I’m Harrison Ford. I have one vote – just like anyone else – and I intend to use it to move forward. I’m going to vote for Kamala Harris.”

In another video, the “Star Wars” star said she was “frustrated with a lot of things in this country,” as if she was “sure” other people were too. “But this other guy spent four years pitting us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants around the world,” Ford continued. “This is not who we are. We don’t have to make America great again. Come on, we’re great, but we need to work together again. We need a president who will work for all of us again.”

Harris has received support from many Hollywood figures. Beyoncé supported the vice president at a rally in Houston in October with her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland. In August, Harris was accompanied by stars such as Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Others who have made speeches, appearances or shared posts in support of Harris include Taylor Swift, Oprah, Mindy Kaling, Jennifer Lawrence, Billie Eilish, Leonardo DiCaprio, Eminem and more.

These endorsements encouraged large communities to donate to Harris-Walz’s campaign. These include Swifties for Harris and White dudes for Harristhe latter of which included a YouTube event that featured JJ Abrams, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Groban, Sean Astin, Michael Kelly, Josh Gad, Jeff Bridges and Mark Hamill and managed to raise over $4 million in donations .
