Bengaluru: In a tragic discovery that shocked the Kannada film industry, director Guruprasad (52) was found hanged in his Bengaluru apartment on Sunday. Police suspect that the acclaimed director committed suicide a few days ago, possibly due to financial stress or other unresolved personal conflicts.

The incident took place in a residential complex under Madanayakanahalli police surveillance on the outskirts of the city. Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police CK Baba said Guruprasad’s neighbors last saw him entering the apartment almost a week ago, after which he apparently retreated and no longer went outside.

Known for his bold and unconventional work, including acclaimed films such as ‘Mata’ and ‘Yeddelu Manjunatha’, Guruprasad’s sudden death left his colleagues and fans in disbelief.

His body has been sent for an autopsy and police are trying to uncover further details of this heartbreaking tragedy.
