Driver died in Madison Township, sheriff says

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A driver is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Madison Township Friday night, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.

Sheriff Jones says deputies and the Madison Township Fire Department were called to the 2400 block of Woodsdale Road around 11 p.m.

The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the black Jeep left the road when the vehicle went over an embankment, causing it to overturn, Sheriff Jones said.

There were two passengers in the Jeep: a driver and a passenger.

Sheriff Jones says the driver died at the scene and the passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear whether drugs, alcohol and speed played a factor in the crash.

The MPs have not yet released any names.

The crash remains under investigation.
