Kent County Council is consulting on its five-year education strategy

Kent County Council (KCC) is consulting on its draft education strategy 2025-2030.

KCC wants to focus on improving educational outcomes, improving wellbeing and creativity, and ensuring schools are environmentally and financially sustainable.

The draft document also sets out the Council’s ambitions for the future, including identifying the risks and opportunities of artificial intelligence for education and crisis planning.

Councilor Rory Love said: “Ambition, curiosity and resilience are the three most important things a child needs to both have a successful education and gain future life skills.”

KCC’s other ambitions included improving mental health, physical health and fitness across all schools.

The draft strategy identified SEND inclusion and coherence as “significant areas of weakness”.

The consultation will run until Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
