Man dies after crash in DeKalb Co.

HAMMONDVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A man died Sunday morning following a crash in DeKalb County, authorities said.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Highway 40 in Hammondville after the man was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. he drove off the road, hitting a power pole and a tree.

Authorities said the driver, identified as 37-year-old Joshua Dean of Rainsville, was not wearing a seat belt during the crash.

Dean was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA is investigating the incident.
