At least six people were injured after tornado-producing storms left a trail of destruction in parts of Oklahoma

Tornadoes and flooding from severe storms ripped through parts of Oklahoma overnight, injuring six people and destroying homes and other property.

Six people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Valerie Littlejohn, public information officer for the Oklahoma City Police Department.

She added that several structures were damaged in the area, including power lines, trees, gas pipelines, traffic lights and road signs.
